WELCOME to APAMEI
The Asia/Pacific Association of the Methodist-related Educational Institutions (APAMEI) is a regional consortium of the Methodist-related schools, colleges, and universities committed to academic excellence, ethical leadership, and holistic education rooted in the Wesleyan tradition. While grounded in a Christian worldview, APAMEI values solidarity in diversity and upholds inclusive values that respect and embrace diverse backgrounds, fostering a learning community shaped by integrity, compassion, and the pursuit of truth.
Inspired by the legacy of John Wesley—who believed that education should unite knowledge and vital piety—APAMEI fosters collaboration across institutions to advance research, encourage critical thinking, and cultivate leaders who are equipped to engage the complex challenges of our time. Through partnerships that bridge faith, intellect, and social engagement, APAMEI seeks not only to form individuals of character but also to contribute meaningfully to the transformation of society toward peace, justice, equity, and human right.
ABOUT US
Our History
APAMEI was established in 2012 to strengthen connections among the Methodist-related educational institutions throughout the Asia-Pacific region. Rooted in the Methodist tradition of combining intellectual rigor with spiritual development, we create a collaborative network that enhances educational opportunities.
Our association serves as a bridge between diverse cultures, educational systems, and communities, fostering cross-cultural understanding and cooperation among member institutions from countries including Austrailia, China, Fiji, Samoa, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, VIetnam, and beyond.
For decades, APAMEI has hosted diverse conferences, forums, symposiums to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, resources, and best practices among member institutions, strengthening Wesleyan tradition and Methodist education's impact across the region while preserving each institution's unique cultural identity and educational approach.
APAMEI is one of the regional associations under IAMSCU - International Association of the Methodist-related Schools, Colleges, and Universities, supporting the Asia-Pacific area
